Immigrants

Ali and Anu are doing their group work about immigrants. They have visited Rovala (An adult education center) and interviewed a few immigrants. They asked questions like for how long have they lived in Finland and how do they like it here. They also asked if it was difficult to learn Finnish.

Ali and Anu are ready with their work and all they have to do now is hang it up from the ceiling.

Tiia and Artturi making a mess

Tiia and Artturi have started their work later than others so their cube isn't going to be ready yet. Their styrofoam cube is about Romans. They planned to paint a Roman flag to the top and the sides will be covered with cardboard which has information about Romans!

GUTEN TAG

So within two weeks the girls are going to Germany and we were just told that they are going to be interviewed on the local radio of Göttingen, you can listen to the interview somewhere here. We're not actually quite sure where exactly, can't understand a word :--D but we'll surely find it somewhere there!

You will see Nea & Päivi in Germany

Instead of drinking coffee Ali and Niina decided to play with a ball....:D

And we've been listening to some German music!
Someday we will know what they're saying

Finnish Swedes

Lauri, Ari and Kimmo have searched information about Finnish Swedes. They are Finlanders that speak both Swedish and Finnish as their mother language. Boys have gathered all the information to a styrofoam board like everybody has.

Because the styrofoam boards are kind of difficult to transport to Germany, students that study Information and Communication Technology have filmed a video that Riikka, Nea and Päivi are going to present in Göttingen.

The second minority - Tornionjokilaakso

The second group, Niina, Janette and Juha, are also doing a styrofoam board but this time it's about Tornionjokilaakso. There isn't a way to translate it to English but it's like an area in Finland. People living in Tornionjokilaakso have their own language and an own radio station.

Here are some pictures of Niina and Janette on the go. Unfortunately Juha isn't here now so we couldn't post any pictures of him :--(

That board was used in another project where Wild West was brought to Lapland.
